I spent over a decade on TV and Film sets before I ever opened Figma. That’s not a detour. That’s where I became a designer.

From TV Production to DesignHow I got here
10+ years on set for Netflix, MTV, NBC, and CBS. Camera department, DIT, 50+ person crews. The kind of work where things break live and you figure it out before anyone notices.
When COVID shut down Catfish, I was the technical lead who had to solve a problem no one had solved before: how do you shoot a TV show when no one's in the same room? I figured it out in 2 months. Built the whole remote system, shipped gear to talent, ran setup sessions, managed live monitoring across multiple feeds. 50+ episodes. Reused across 3 more shows.
That's when it clicked. I'd been solving design problems the whole time. Looking at complex systems, finding where they break, building the thing that makes them work. I just hadn't called it design yet.
Started self-teaching myself design in 2023. Freelancing in 2024. Now I design digital products for startups and small businesses.
In August 2025, I started the Friends of Figma Ventura chapter in our small beach town. We’re a growing group of 30+ designers, and I lead the chapter to bring creatives together to share work, swap stories, and build community in Ventura County.

You’ll probably find me surfing 🏄♀️—it’s my favorite way to reset and recharge.
If I’m not surfing, I’m outside climbing, biking, or spearfishing. I thrive on learning new things and staying connected to nature.
